By default, the app icons on your watch screen are displayed in a honeycomb-like Grid layout. You can readily change this appearance and switch Apple Watch to List View layout. It not only corrects the awful arrangement of apps but also makes all icons appear in the same size.
Switch Apple Watch to List view to browse installed apps
By adjusting the Reduce Motion option in the Apple Watch preferences, you can switch your Apple Watch to List View and make all app icons appear the same in size. For this, do the following.
- Activate Reduce Motion on Apple Watch.
- Access Settings on your Apple Watch.
- Choose Accessibility.
- Select Reduce Motion to enable it.
- Activate Reduce Motion on iPhone.
- Choose the Apple Watch icon.
- Scroll down to Accessibility.
- Choose Motion setting.
- Turn on Reduce Motion option.
A good feature of enabling the Reduce Motion setting is that in addition to making all the icons appear the same in size, it will improve the Apple Watch’s battery life since it limits the animation of the User Interface.
How to change app layout on Apple Watch to list view
The app icons on Apple Watch Home Screen can be viewed in 2 modes, Grid View and ListView. In Grid View, the icons around the borders or the edges of the Watch appear quite small in comparison to inner icons. This arrangement sometimes looks awful. Fortunately, it can be changed and customized to suit one’s preferences.
Unlock your Apple Watch and go to Settings.
Under Settings, scroll down to the Accessibility section.
Expand the Accessibility section by gently tapping on the setting and choosing the Reduce motion option therein.
Return back to Apple Watch Home Screen. You should find all the app icons appearing in the same size.
Now, on your iPhone, tap the Apple Watch icon and go to Settings.
Under Settings choose Accessibility.
Then, move to the Motion setting.
Under the Motion setting, select the Reduction Motion option and tap the option to enable it.
Hope that makes sense!
