How do I share my location on Apple Watch instead of iPhone?
To get started, unlock your Apple Watch with the passcode. Press the Digital Crown to show the apps in either Grid view or List view.
Select the Find People app and when prompted with a message, either select the Allow Once or Allow While Using App option.
When directed to a new screen, tap the + icon next to the Share My Location entry.
Now, tap the Contacts circle as shown in the image above.
Select a contact from the list.
Now, choose the length of time for sharing your location. By default, the available options are,
- Share for One Hour.
- Share Until End of Day.
- Share Indefinitely.
Once done, you’ll see a message saying the person can see your location.
A Time Sensitive notification will also be sent to the recipient of the location.
Upon tapping the notification, the recipient will be directed to a Map screen where he/she can tap the Directions tab to find the fastest route to reach the location.
Thus, if you have an Apple Watch, running watchOS 6 or later, you can use the Find People app to share your location with friends and family members.
