As with all software, there can be problems with Apple Watch software also. Some users complain, that updating their smartwatch to the latest version results in an unknown problem – the persistent appearance of a Blue line around Apple Watch face. Restarting or rebooting the watch doesn’t seem to help either. If you are experiencing the same issue, here’s what you can do to get out of this troubling situation.
Fix the Blue line around Apple Watch face issue
Reaching a level of personalization where you can operate your Apple Watch without having to touch the screen or controls is possible. But in doing so, you sometimes run the risk of making the device a potential curse. For example, when you have the Assistive touch setting enabled, you’ll see a Blue line around Apple Watch face. This line or ring around the screen can make it difficult for you to access items or interact with them, normally. Fortunately, you can fix it. Here’s how!
- On your iPhone Home Screen, tap the Watch icon.
- Go to Accessibility.
- Tap Assistive Touch.
- Expand Hand Gestures heading.
- Scroll down to the Activation Gesture entry.
- Disable the Visual Signal option.
So, if restarting your Watch doesn’t fix the problem, follow the above-mentioned steps to remove the Blue line around its Watch face.
Why does my Apple Watch have a blue border?

Assistive touch allows you to navigate Apple Watch using one-handed gestures. As such, when you have this feature enabled accidentally (watchOS update bug) or deliberately, you’ll see the blue focus ring around the Apple watch face or the first item on your screen. The focus ring itself indicates that you can tap the item via AssistiveTouch.
How do I get rid of the blue border on my Apple Watch?
To get rid of the blue border or focus ring around the Apple Watch screen, open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Go to the Accessibility tab and tap to expand it.

Then, scroll down to AssistiveTouch heading under the MOTOR section of the Accessibility setting.

In the next screen that appears, tap the Hand gestures entry under INPUTS and choose the Activation Gestures option at the bottom of the screen.

Now, under the Activation gestures screen, if you find the Visual Signal option enabled, slide the toggle to the opposite end to disable it.

The action when confirmed will remove the focus ring or the blue line around the Apple Watch face.
Hope that makes sense!
