How to remove unwanted audio from Live Photos on iPhone

When you capture your surrounding with Live Photos for iPhone enabled, it also records sound in the background. If the sound is too loud, or disruptive to hearing, it can kill all the appeal. Fortunately, there’s a way to remove unwanted audio from Live Photos on iPhone. Read to know-how!

How do you remove unwanted audio from Live Photos on iPhone?

With Live Photos for your iPhone turned On, the device records what happens 1.5 seconds before and after you take a picture. As such, it captures moments with movement and sound. If you do not like the sound, you can remove it. See how to remove unwanted audio from Live Photos on iPhone.

  1. Go to the Photos app on iPhone.
  2. Tap Library tile.
  3. Select a Live Photo.
  4. Switch to the detailed view of the Live Photo.
  5. Tap Edit link.
  6. Select the Live Photo (seen as a layer of 3 concentric circles) at the bottom of the screen.
  7. Hit the Speaker icon (highlighted in yellow) in the upper-left corner.
  8. It should turn grey with a strike through it.

How do I silence live Photos?

First, go to the Photos app on your iPhone.

Tap the Library tile visible at the bottom of your mobile screen. Choose a Live Photo from which you would like to remove the audio.

Switch to the Detail View of the Live Photo by tapping it.

Hit the Edit link visible in the upper-right corner.

In the Toolbar that appears, select the ‘Live Photo’ icon (3 concentric circles. The outermost circle is visible as a dotted one).

Tap the speaker icon (highlighted in yellow) to remove the audio from the photo.

You can confirm the audio has been removed if the speaker icon turns grey in color.

What is live photo on iPhone?

Live Photos are Apple’s animated photos that come alive when you touch them or long-press the screen. The feature as mentioned earlier captures moments with both, movement and sound. You can edit it to add fun effects and share it with your family and friends.
