When you have your smartwatch paired to your iPhone, any new mail received on your Phone will also be delivered to your watch and you’ll see a notification regarding the same. Take the following steps to manage Apple watch mail notification and Mark Email as Read on Apple Watch.
- Press Digital Crown on your smartwatch.
- Select a Mail app from the options displayed.
- Choose a message.
- Press firmly on screen to make the watch display 4 new options.
- Select Read or Unread to mark the mail under mail notifications.

Press the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch to show the list of apps.
Tap the Mail icon to open the app.
Choose a message you would like to mark as read or unread.
Press and hold the finger on the Watch screen for few seconds.
Choose Unread or Read.
Alternatively, you can flag the message or remove it from the same view.
Apple watch mail notifications not working
If you find emails are not updating on Apple watch or you see no mail notifications on the screen, go to the ‘Settings’ app, tap ‘Mail’ and select ‘Notifications’. Make sure, the Allow Notifications toggle is enabled.
Then, tap your email account and enable alert for all 3 styles,
- Lock Screen
- Notification Center
