For any post to make a perceptible difference in your social networking space especially on Facebook, it must go viral. But when you keep your settings private, you limit the extent of its reach. It’s not that hard to make a post shareable on Facebook. Just perform a couple of steps in succession and see the visibility of your post rising by manifolds, without impacting your overall Facebook privacy settings.
How to make a post shareable on Facebook
If you want your posts to be appearing in as many of your followers’ news feeds as possible, make sure you’ve set the visibility to Public. This will make a post shareable on Facebook and who knows, you might earn more fans following your Facebook page or profile.
- Login to your Facebook account.
- Go to your profile.
- Tap inside What’s on your mind field.
- Create a post.
- Hit the visibility drop-down menu.
- Select Public.
- Hit the post button.
So, whether it’s a new post or an existing one, you can make the post shareable publicly and increase its visibility.
How do you make a post shareable on Facebook?
To select the audience and relax controls over who can see or react to your posts on Facebook, launch the Facebook app or log in to Facebook (Desktop version).
Then, to make the existing post shareable on Facebook publicly, go to your profile page (tap the profile pic).
Now, tap inside the What’s on your mind field to create a post and type a message. As you can see in the image above, the visibility of the post is set to Friends. You’ll need to change it to Public. For this, hit the visibility drop-down menu.
Then, from the list of options displayed, select Public.
When done, hit the Post button to make it visible and shareable with a wider audience.
Similarly, if you would like to make your earlier Facebook posts shareable, scroll down a bit on your profile page to pick a post.
Hit the Menu button (visible as 3 horizontal dots in the upper-right corner).
Next, select the Edit post option.
When the new screen appears, tap the Visibility tab and choose the ‘Public’ option.
Your post will appear in News Feed on your profile and in search results.
Why can’t people share my posts on Facebook?
Facebook settings have privacy sharing options. So, if you’ve unknowingly or mistakenly set it to high privacy settings, even your family and friends won’t be able to share your posts. They will only have permission to read it. You can verify this by navigating to Settings > Settings & Privacy > Posts (under Audience and Visibility section) > Who can see your future posts?
If it’s set to ‘Friends’ only people whom you are friends with will be allowed to share your post/s. However, you can change it to make your posts visible to a wider audience each time you create a new post. Facebook will use that audience for your future posts unless you change it.
Hope it helps!
