Use Signal QR code iPhone to backup your data on another iOS device

How to use Signal QR code in iPhone to backup data?

The Signal app allows you to use a backup to move your local Signal data between Apple devices (iPhone or iPad). Read the instructions given below to use the Signal QR code iPhone to back up data.

  1. On your new device, launch the Signal app.
  2. Complete the registration process.
  3. Select Transfer from iOS Device.
  4. Hit the Next button to see a QR code.
  5. Switch to your old device.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Move your device physically to scan the QR code from the above step.
  8. Allow the transfer process to complete,
  9. Send a message from your new device.

How do you use a Signal code?

Before you begin the transfer process, it is important that you choose a time when you won’t be using either device for several minutes.

Then, on your new device, launch the Signal app. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet, download and install it. Then, complete the registration process, when prompted.

Next, choose Transfer from iOS Device.

Hit the Next (linked iPad only) to make a QR code visible.

Now, switch to your old device, select Next and physically move it to scan the QR code from the above step.

Allow the transfer process to complete, successfully!

When done, your message history will be deleted from your old device Signal app, automatically!

Signal linking device failed this QR code is not valid message?

After scanning the QR code, physically place the phones to touch. Do not move the phones while the transfer is in progress. Your problem should be solved!

Signal QR Code doesn’t work?

If you notice, the Signal QR code generated fails to work, try increasing the brightness of the screen. Also, hold the camera very close to the QR code and hold it steady.
