Facebook’s Choose a layout feature accommodates multiple images in a single frame?

July 29, 2020 by Hemant Saxena

The all-new Choose a layout theme in Facebook helps you optimize your Facebook photo layouts by accomodating multiple images in a single frame. It also offers frames of different designs and formats to add a spark to your visuals uploaded to the app.

How to use Facebook Choose a layout theme

Uploading multiple photos to Facebook can be tricky especially when you are not so proficient with the app. Moreover, it can be quite confusing if you want all the photos to be included under a single post update. Facebook photo layout template however simplifies things. Find out how you can enable the new Facebook multi-image post layout feature!

  1. Open your Facebook mobile app.
  2. Tap Photos option
  3. Choose a layout
  4. Write something
  5. Post images with the status update

One way to upload multiple photos together is to create a photo album but you can also do it without creating an album, though in a limited way. See the instructions given below to post multiple images from your mobile device using the Facebook app.

Make Facebook collage

You can choose your best photos to upload and once you’ve shared them, you and your friends will see them as a story in a new collage layout.

Launch your Facebook mobile app. You’ll find the most essential tabs located at the top of the screen. Just below the ‘What’s on your mind’ field, there’s a group of tabs, including,

  • Live
  • Photo
  • Room
Facebook Layout Photo Icon

Select the ‘Photo’ tab.

Choose photos you would like to post on the networking site and select a Facebook photo cover template. Facebook photo layout options for multi-image posts include,

  • Classic
  • Columns
  • Banner
  • Frame

Each Facebook layout has its own characteristics.

Select any one of the 4 photo layouts from above.

Once done, write something about the album, you just finished creating and hit the ‘Post’ button to post images to your account. The multi-image layout facebook feature will become active.

Please note that if you have more than 5 images to be added to a post or a status update, we recommend you create an album instead.

Facebook photo layout not working?

If the ‘Choose a layout’ feature is not visible to you, update your Facebook mobile app to its latest version.

Go to the App Store and click the Apps icon.

Scroll down to Top Free Apps and hit the See All link.

Update Facebook

Choose the Facebook app from Apple Store and if you see the download (cloud icon) option there, tap it to update the app. You now know the trick of how to change the layout of a Facebook post!

Hope that makes sense!

Once you choose the Collages or Themes option, select Photos from the gallery that appears beneath it. You’ll then see a preview of your photos. Then, just hit the Next > Done button. If that doesn’t work, remove the app and then, install it again.

I have the choose layout option on my app, when I click it, it gives me a page that says collages, or themes. I can’t click into it, or do anything with it. Any ideas? I have the latest update.

Is the feature working for Facebook Dekstop version?? If no, wait. I am sure Facebook will find a solution for it. Even I am trying to look for a workaround. If I come across any, I’ll definitely let you know!

    Thanks for this marvellous instruction.
I just have 2 more questions:

    1) is it possible to change the colour of the “frame”?
Currently, Facebook just gives me the option of a boring, ugly grey…

    2) Does the “layout” option also work on a computer (laptop) – or just on the mobile app?
