Simple hack to sign a document on iPhone

If you are not aware, you can markup PDF files and images in the iOS Mail app and send them readily across to the concerned authorities for certification and verification. The Markup iPhone feature makes it easy to annotate documents and images with various drawing and text tools. So, even if you want to sign a document digitally and send it across to someone, you can do so in a snap. Let’s quickly walk you through the process to sign a document on iPhone.

How to sign a document on iPhone?

If you are using some third-party apps to edit or sign a document on iPhone, try switching to Apple’s built-in Markup feature. It lets you add a digital copy of your signature with desired levels of opacity and font thicknesses.

  1. Open Mail app.
  2. Tap ‘Compose’ button.
  3. Select a file and access Markup options.
  4. Choose Signature from the options listed therein.
  5. Add Signature.
  6. Tap Done.
  7. Adjust the size and the width of signature.
  8. Send the file for certification or verification.

Markup offers a wide range of tools including, markers, highlighter, pencil, eraser, or Magic Rope. Tap one of the tools to select it.

How to sign a PDF document on iPhone?

Firstly, open the Mail app on your iPhone. Towards the bottom of the Mail window, you can find the ‘Compose’ button highlighted in blue.

Select the ‘Compose’ button and tap anywhere inside the mail body to make the ‘>’ icon visible.

When seen, click it to open the format bar. Alternatively, you can tap inside your email, then tap the cursor and select ‘Insert Photo’ or ‘Add Attachment’.

Once the document is attached, tap the area near the attached file to reveal the markup option.

Hit the plus button to add a signature.

If you are adding your signature for the first time, create it using the tools offered in the Markup tool. When done, select ‘signature’ to add your signature to the file.

Tap ‘Done, then send your email.

Note: Depending upon the notification rules, you can choose to change the color of the writing tools from white, black, blue, green, yellow, and red.
