How to send a current location text message through an iPhone

How to use current location text message on iPhone

iOS 13 adds the capability to share or send a current location text message to your friends, family, and contacts via iMessage. You can even use it to send contact cards, voice memos, and more. See the steps below to share location iPhone indefinitely!

  1. Open the Messages app.
  2. Select a message.
  3. Tap the name of the person.
  4. Tap the Info icon.
  5. Select the Send My Current Location option.
  6. Choose the Information tab.
  7. Share your location.
  8. Set the length of time that you want to share your location for.

You can share your location with one or more than one person from the Messages app on your iPhone.

Unlock your iPhone, open the Messages app on your iPhone and select a message.

Select the name of the person at the top of the conversation.

Among the options provided, select the ‘info’ icon.

Then, choose the length of time that you want to share your location for. (Note – You must have the ‘Location’ services enabled under ‘Settings’).

The shortfall of this feature - Broadcasting or sharing your location continuously drains the battery power. As such, it may impact your battery life. If you are running low on battery or if you've only got 10 percent battery left and need your phone to last the rest of the day, sharing your location is not recommended!

How to stop sharing location on iPhone without them knowing?

It's simple! Just tap Share My Location link and toggle the switch to Off position.
