How to share WiFi password from iPhone to iPhone

Getting connected to a new Wi-Fi network can be a bit of a hassle but if you are using an Apple device, things can be reduced to just a few essentials. You don’t need to download or install any third-party apps for it. We’ll show you how to share WiFi password from iPhone to iPhone.

How to share WiFi password from iPhone to another device?

While connecting to a new WiFi network, you not only have to enter the password in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings correctly but start the process all over again if you miss a letter midway. Performing this exercise multiple times can be freaking aggravating. Fortunately, Apple makes it less tiresome. Read how to share WiFi password from iPhone to iPhone.

  1. On both iPhones, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  2. If either device has Personal Hotspot enabled, disable it.
  3. Verify if the email address you use for your Apple ID is saved in the other person’s Contacts.
  4. Bring the two devices nearby.
  5. Make sure the device sharing the password with another device is connected to the WiFi network.
  6. Select the Wi-Fi network on the device you want to connect.
  7. Tap Password field.
  8. Choose Share Password on the other device, already connected to the network.
  9. Tap Done.

How to share WiFi password on iPhone?

Before starting the process turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings on both devices (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch). Make sure the contact with which you want to share the password has an apple ID saved in your Contacts list.

Bring the two Apple devices nearby. One of them should already be connected to the Wi-Fi.

Now, on the device, you would like to connect to the WiFi network, go to Wi-Fi settings, select the network, and tap inside the Password field.

Instantly, a popup will appear on the other device, prompting to Share the password.

Hit Done when completed.

Make sure both devices have the latest versions of iOS installed and placed nearby, within Bluetooth and Wi-Fi range. If the devices are too far apart, your iPhone won’t be able to share a WiFi password.

Apple Cloud ID Also, the email address you use for your Apple ID should be saved in the other person’s Contacts. You can verify this by going to Contacts > Contact Name > Email.

Can you share WiFi password from iPhone to Mac?

Yes, Apple makes it easy to let you share a WiFi password from an iPhone to another iPhone, an iPad, or any Mac computer running macOS Sierra or later. Just make sure the devices are in the range of each other and have the Bluetooth setting enabled.
