Earlier, the method of sharing an audio meant plugging one earpiece in your ear and other piece in someone else’s ear. Although the method worked, it meant losing half the experience in the process. That’s not the case anymore as the new iOS feature – Audio Sharing allows you to share music across two sets of AirPods or PowerBeats headphones.
Share audio with AirPods or Beats headphones
‘Audio Sharing’, lets you instantly and temporarily pair a second set of AirPods to your iPhone or iPad. All you’ll need is a compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and iOS 13.1 or iPadOS 13.1 or later running on them.
1] Bring your AirPods in proximity with your AirPods. If they are enclosed in a case, open the lid and connect your AirPods to your iOS device.
2] Open Control Center by swiping from upper corner. When the AirPlay icon appears, tap ‘Share Audio’.
3] If your friend has AirPods, hold them close to your device with the AirPods inside the case and open the lid. For other headphones, put them in pairing mode and hold them close to your device.
4] When your friend’s headphones popup on the iPhone screen, tap ‘Share Audio’.
5] If you would like to stop sharing, tap the ‘AirPlay’ icon in Control Center or the Lock screen or in the app you’re listening to.
6] Check the box marked against the headphones you would like to stop sharing audio with. When you stop sharing audio, you also disconnect the second set of headphones.
At the moment, you’re limited to sharing your music with only the following devices:
- AirPods 1
- AirPods 2
- PowerBeats Pro
Hope Apple will include support for other Brands in upcoming months. For more information, you can visit Apple.com.
Hoe that helps!
