How to set up voicemail on iPhone?

There’s nothing more annoying than finding your call being put on hold by the receiver. Proponents of voicemail messages claim, its system beats this annoyance by reducing the message-taking costs (since you do not require a secretary or receptionist to field calls). So, if you want to know how to set up voicemail on iPhone, follow this guide.

How to set up voicemail on iPhone?

Voicemail messages can’t be lost or distorted and have their own potent use. You can use your telephone service provider to set up voicemail on your phone. Here’s how to set up voicemail on iPhone.

  1. Go to the Phone app on your iPhone.
  2. Click the Voicemail icon.
  3. A ‘Set up’ button should show up.
  4. Enter the passcode. If you are using the feature for the first time, create a new password.
  5. Enter the passcode.
  6. Hit the Done button.
  7. Record your own greeting for voicemails.
  8. Tap Save.

How to set up voicemail on iPhone 11?

Go to the Phone app on your iPhone Home screen.

Tap the Voicemail icon visible in the lower-right corner.

A Set-Up Now button should appear under the Voicemail screen.

If you have used voicemail service earlier on iPhone, enter your old passcode to directly access your old voicemails. However, if you are using it for the first time, then create a passcode and enter it.

When you’re finished, select Done.

Instantly, the Greeting screen should show up. Here, you can select Default greeting or personalize it by selecting the Custom option. Later, you can tap the Record link to record your greeting, and Play to repeat it back.

If you are content with the message, select Save.

Your Voicemail is now set up!

How do I check my voicemail?

You can hear the messages on your phone, without having to call your voicemail service. To do so, simply hit the play symbol. You can also enable Speaker to activate your loudspeaker. Thereafter, you can either

  • Call back the person who left you the message, by choosing Call Back. Or,
  • Share messages by selecting the share symbol.
