How to set up an Apple Watch for left-handed use

Apple Watch is set to right-hand use by default, but many people have a dominant left hand. For them, adjusting the WatchOS settings and managing its controls can be a bit difficult. For this reason, Apple offers an option via which you can change the orientation for use on the left wrist. See how to set up Apple Watch for left-handed use.

How do I set up my Apple Watch for left-handed use?

Enabling Apple Watch left-handed mode i.e., on your right wrist will reverse the button positions. This means the Digital Crown will appear at the bottom and the side button on the top. However, the change in orientation won’t affect the way the watch works. Here’s how to get started and set up Apple Watch for left-handed use.

  1. Unlock your Apple Watch.
  2. Press the Digital Crown to go to the Main Screen.
  3. Move to Settings.
  4. Select the General section.
  5. Choose Orientation.
  6. Select the orientation for the Wrist.
  7. Select the Orientation for Digital Crown.
  8. Close Settings.
  9. Exit.

Aside from the touchscreen, the digital crown is the tool that people use most to interact with their watch. So, the change in orientation may appear a bit uneasy for the southpaws in the beginning.
