How to read PDF on Kindle using simple hack?

October 12, 2020 by Hemant Saxena

Reading PDF books on Kindle devices is not so easy as it seems to be. It requires a bit of work since the display size of all Kindles are not large enough to view a PDF at its full size. However, a simple functionality (Send to Kindle) in the email address feature of the device makes the task somewhat easier and lets you read PDF on Kindle.

Use this trick to read PDF on Kindle device

The comparatively small size of Kindle displays makes you zoom-scroll every nook and corner of the screen to read the document. This can be a very daunting experience. Send to Kindle Email Address feature eliminates this process and enables you to read PDF. Here’s how to read PDF on Kindle.

  1. If you are using an iPhone or iPad, open the file and choose the Share icon.
  2. Tap the email service you would like to use.
  3. Enter the Send to Kindle Email Address.
  4. To find it, go to your Kindle device or app.
  5. Tap More at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Select Settings.
  7. Note the Send to Kindle Email Address.
  8. Enter the address on your iPhone or iPad email app.
  9. In the subject field type CONVERT.
  10. Hit the Send button.

After you’re done with the above steps, Amazon will convert the PDF file into a format that is compatible with its devices and send it to your Kindle using Amazon’s Whispersync technology.

The above step will enable Amazon to convert the PDF file into a readable format on Kindle.

On a side note, this method has limitations. For example, it takes anywhere from minutes to a few hours for the PDF file to show up in your Kindle Library. Second, if your PDF file features some charts or images the conversion process may cause some distortion.
