How to pin a chat message in iPhone

To access important chat conversations or other necessary content in the iPhone Messages app, we often use the Search field to find what we’re looking for. This can be a daunting task if our contact list has many numbers saved in it. There’s a much simpler way you can use to keep important chats at the top of your screen by pinning them and access them instantly. See how to pin a chat message on iPhone.

How to pin a chat message in iPhone Messages app?

The people we talk to or contact most should always come first on the list. An easy way of ensuring this is to pin text messages, chats, or conversations from such contacts. Here’s a simple post describing how to pin a text message in iPhone.

  1. Unlock your iPhone.
  2. Tap the iPhone messages icon.
  3. Locate the contact you would like to pin by searching for a message from the person.
  4. Long press and hold the message to display a menu of options.
  5. Select Pin option.
  6. The contact will be pinned to the top of the Messages app.
  7. For multiple contacts, tap the Edit icon.
  8. Select Edit Pins.
  9. Choose the contacts.

Note – You to pin up to nine conversations under the Messages app screen for easy access, and you can add and delete pins at any time.

How do you pin a chat message?

To get started, unlock your iPhone using a passcode or Face ID.

Go to the Messages app.

Look for the contact you would like to pin messages from.

Long press and hold the message, chat or conversation to display a menu of options.

Select Pins option from the list of options displayed.

Instantly, the contact will be pinned to the top of the Messages app screen.

Similarly, if you would like to pin chats from multiple contacts, tap the Edit icon, adjacent to the Messages heading.

Choose Edit pins option from the list.

Select the contacts by tapping the yellow-colored pins next to the entries and adding them.

Now, you’ll have instant access to messages and chats from the pinned contacts. If there are any unread messages that were not part of these conversations, they will appear beneath your pins.

How to unpin a text message on iPhone?

Firstly, check whether you have pinned the contacts at the top in the Messages app or not.

If specific chats in iPhone Messages app were designated as Pinned, Long press and hold the contact entries under the Messages heading.

Select Unpin option as shown in the image above.
