How to get back the missing App Store icon

When you find the App Store missing on iPad or iPhone, you cannot download or purchase any app. Chances are, you have restricted its use. There can be other reasons as well for its absence. Whatever the case is, this tutorial will help you fix the problem and restore the missing App Store icon.

How to restore the missing App Store icon on iPhone?

Before proceeding further, make sure the icon is not in a folder. Check the Home screen and every folder. You can also use the search bar to find it. If these tricks fail to find the missing App Store icon, do the following.

  1. Open iPhone/iPad Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Screen Time option.
  3. Locate the Content & Privacy Restrictions menu.
  4. Expand the menu and go to iTunes and App Store Purchases.
  5. Choose the Installing Apps option.
  6. Enable the option.

Launch ‘Settings’ app on your iOS device.

From the list of options displayed, select ‘Screen Time’. The app helps you better understand the usage of your mobile phones.

Locate ‘Content & Privacy Restriction’ option. When found, choose the option. If prompted for a code, enter your ‘Restrictions passcode’. After you confirm your passcode, you'll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. Enter it and proceed further.

Now tap on ‘iTunes & App Store Purchases’.

In the next screen that appears, select ‘Installing Apps’

Here, make sure the toggle for ‘Installing Apps’ is set to ‘ON’ position. If in case, it's Off, turn it On.


That’s it!

Once, you have completed the above steps, the App Store missing on iPhone should reappear on your iPhone Home Screen.
