How to turn on hourly chime sound effect on Apple Watch
The Apple Watch can tell time using both, sounds and haptics. Sounds are audio alerts, whereas haptics is vibration alerts targeted at your wrist and arm. We have already discussed how to use the haptics (Taptic time) feature to track time. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to mark the passage of time by chime sound.
- Go to Apple Watch Settings.
- Choose Accessibility.
- Scroll down to the Chimes option.
- Enable Chimes.
- Move to the Schedule section.
- Select a time frame.
- Choose the desired option under Sounds.
How to turn on hourly chime on Apple Watch?
When configured, Chimes in Apple Watch play chime sound effects at a selected time and announce the time every hour, half-hour, or every fifteen minutes.
Go to Apple Watch Settings. Scroll down to the Accessibility section. Next, tap to expand its menu. From the list of options displayed, select the Chimes option.
Toggle the slider to On position to enable it. Next, tap the Schedule tile to get the alerts after every hour, 30, or 15 minutes. Thereafter, tap the Sounds tile to select the desired chime sound clip.
When done, you’ll get your Apple Watch hourly chime sound. If required, you can also manage these settings from your iPhone. On your iPhone, launch the Apple Watch app, go to Accessibility, and tap Chimes.
It is important to bear in mind that for the Taptic Chimes feature to work, your digital watch must be updated to WatchOS 6 or later.
