Amazon has made it possible for its Alexa app users to enable hands-free mode on their devices (iOS and Android). So, you can just ask the Amazon voice assistant to read out the latest news updates or play your favorite songs. Read the instructions given below in the post to enable or disable Alexa hands-free mode on your iPhone.

Manually turn On Alexa hands-free mode on your iPhone

Devices that support Alexa can be controlled entirely with voice commands. Simply utter the magical word ‘Alexa’ and let your Echo speaker or other smart devices respond, no more pressing or tapping the buttons.

However, the process is not the same for the Alexa smartphone app. It requires you to tap an ‘Alexa’ button to enable the digital assistant. This can be changed! Turn On ‘Alexa hands-free mode‘ on your iPhone manually by following these steps!

  1. Open the Alexa app on your iPhone.
  2. Select Menu.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Navigate to Alexa on this phone setting.
  5. Enable Hands-Free mode.

Amazon has already rolled out Hands-Free mode across the world but to take advantage of it, you should have the latest version of the Alexa app installed on your iPhone.

What you should do if Alexa hands-free mode not showing in Alexa app on your iPhone and Android?

If you notice, Alexa app hands-free iPhone is not working, give the app, the permission to access your microphone by tapping on Microphone for the Amazon app in your device settings. Go to your iPhone’s Settings > Amazon Alexa > Allow Amazon Alexa to access your Microphone.

Just make sure, while using the hands-free detection feature, your phone is unlocked, and the Alexa app is open on the screen.
