How to create your Facebook Avatar for iOS Facebook app

In common parlance, an avatar is a cartoon-like version of oneself shown on the screen (online game or chatroom).  It has become the social network’s latest addiction. Facebook is fast catching up with the trend by rolling out its stock of avatars. If you can’t figure out how to get your own, this tutorial will help you create your personalized Facebook Avatar.

Create and share your personalized Facebook avatars

Facebook had rolled out Avatar feature in US last year. Now, it’s extending the same capability to the company’s largest market – India. As such, Indian Facebook users can now use the new form of expression. To get started,

  1. Launch your Facebook mobile app.
  2. Select See more option.
  3. Choose Avatars.
  4. Follow the prompts to set your skin tone, hairstyle, face appearance, etc.
  5. Start using avatar in comments, Facebook stories or messenger app.

Just like Snapchat’s Bitmoji or Apple’s Animoji, the Avatars feature on Facebook brings several customization options.

Launch your Facebook mobile app for iOS.

Tap the ‘See more’ button (visible at the bottom right corner with three lines).

 Choose the ‘Avatars’ tile.

Start personalizing your avatars with hairstyles, outfits and more.

You can choose between Short, medium, and Long type of hairstyles.

Similarly, you can add the ‘Face Shape’ that suits your appearance.

When you’re Facebook Avatar is ready, you’ll see a preview of it. You’ll get an option to share the same to your ‘News Feed’ or set it temporarily as your ‘profile picture’.

Besides these, you can share your avatar as a sticker and use it anywhere while adding a comment.

For some reason, if there’s no avatar option on Facebook, it likely that you are not running the latest version of the Facebook app. Update it to the latest version!
