What does voice isolation do?
Voice isolation is a unique technology based on Artificial Intelligence. It suppresses the ambient noise in the background and prioritizes only the primary voices in a conversation. That way, it enhances the quality of any conversation taking place in a noisy surrounding. When enabled, it can differentiate between the core person talking and the light murmur in the background.
How do you get rid of background noise on FaceTime?
You can turn on Voice Isolation mode for a FaceTime video call to get rid of the background noise. For this, go to your Recents contact list and choose a contact.
Make the FaceTime audio/video call and open the Control Centre (swipe down from the top of the screen).
Tap the Mic Mode. A new screen with the following options should appear –
- Voice Isolation.
- then select Voice Isolation.
Select the Voice Isolation mode to enable any background noise cancellation. Once done, ambient noise from the surrounding will be filtered out and others will be able to hear your voice loud and clear. It’s a handy shortcut and a better alternative to switching between mute & unmute scenarios every now and then.
At any point, if you feel like allowing your voice and all the sounds around you to be heard in a FaceTime call, enable the Wide Spectrum mode from the above list.
Hope that makes sense!
