How to add Google Widget to Home Screen in iOS 14 or later

Apple iOS 14 Home Screen widgets offer a great way to create a personalized iPhone Home screen. You can take advantage of the updated apps to create some slick-looking widgets. Lately, Google’s widget that brings fast access to search right from the screen and includes shortcuts to different ways to search in the Google app has been gaining a lot of traction amongst users. So, let’s find out how to add Google Widget to Home Screen in iOS 14 or later.

How to add Google Widget to Home Screen of an iPhone or iPad?

Following the roll-out of the iOS 14 update, many app developers started rushing to add widgets to their creations. As a user, you can add these shortcuts to your Smartphone or tablet screen. Here’s how to add Google Widget to Home Screen of an iPhone or iPad.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, press and hold the screen for a few seconds.
  2. Tap the plus icon visible in the upper left corner.
  3. The widget gallery will open.
  4. Search for & tap on the Google app.
  5. Swipe right/left to select an appropriate size for the widget
  6. Tap Add Widget.
  7. Place the widget and tap “Done” at the upper right corner.

The method described above works for all Google applications. For instance, you can add the Google Maps widget iOS 14, YouTube shortcut, and more in a similar way.

What is a Widget on iPhone?

A widget is a miniature app view that can be embedded in applications to get quick access to information, without opening the app.

How to Add Google Search Widget?

On your iPhone or iPad, press and hold the screen for a few seconds. The action will make the apps installed on your iPhone or iPad vibrate. Also, you’ll see a + icon in the upper-left corner of the device’s screen.

Tap the + icon to open the widget gallery.

Look for any Google service.

When found, tap the app and swipe right/left to select an appropriate size for the widget. Hit the Add Widget button.

Place the widget and tap the Done button to finish the installation.

This will add Google Search widget to your iPhone or iPad screen.

How to get rid of Google widget?

To remove Google widget from your iPhone Home Screen, long-press the widget until you see the Remove Widget option.

Then, simply hit the button to remove the widget permanently from your iPhone Home Screen.

Google widget not showing iOS 14?

Update the app! It is quite possible by the time you install the app and add it as a shortcut to your phone screen, an updated version of the app was made available.
