How to get a task notification from Reminders in iPhone

This tutorial shows you how to get a task notification from Reminders in iPhone while chatting with someone in Messages. For instance, you can have a task assigned for yourself and get notified about it when you chat with someone in the Messages app. All you must do is set up a Task Reminder on your iPhone and wait for the right time to see it.

Get a task notification from Reminders in iPhone while chatting?

Reminders in iPhone is an app equipped with a feature that lets you tag contacts in a to-do task so that you get a notification about it when you text that person in Messages. Read further to find how to use this setting!

  1. Open the Reminders iPhone app.
  2. Tap the New Reminder option.
  3. Give a suitable title.
  4. Add notes to the reminder.
  5. Go to the Details tab.
  6. Turn On Date and Time option.
  7. Add the reminder.
  8. Tap the Info icon.
  9. Enable the When Messaging option.
  10. Choose a contact.

With Reminders for iPhone/iPad, you can create reminders with subtasks and attachments, and set alerts based either on time, location, or while messaging someone so that you don’t miss out on any important topic of discussion.

How to use reminders in iPhone?

Firstly, launch the Reminders app on iPhone.

Tap the New Reminder option, visible as a (+) icon at the bottom of the app screen.

Add a Title for the reminder. Tap inside the Notes field to add some important notes, if any.

Tap the Details tab side-arrow to enable date and time details.

Hit the Add button, seen in the upper-right corner to add the newly created reminder to your list.

Tap the info icon, next to the reminder.

Now, scroll down to the When Messaging option and enable it. This will configure iOS to show the reminder notification when chatting with a person in messages.

Tap the Choose a person link and select a contact from the contact list on iPhone.

Now, when you send a message to the tagged contact, the alert will appear at the top of the app. You can simply swipe up on the notification to dismiss it.

How to delete reminders on iPhone?

The simplest way to delete a reminder/s on iPhone is to go to My Lists under Reminders and tap the circle, adjacent to the reminder to delete it.
