How to fix Kindle Fire Can’t connect to camera error
There are a good number of apps that require access to the Kindle Fire camera for their proper functioning but upon granting access, you may encounter a ‘Can’t connect to camera’ error. Worry not, it’s quite simple to fix. Just follow any one of the methods listed below.
- Clear App Cache and Data on Your Fire Tablet
- Check the app permissions
- Factory Reset Your Fire Tablet
When such problems occur, finding the source of the problem isn’t easy. The best option then is to try a few workarounds and see if it helps!
1] Clear App Cache and Data on Your Fire Tablet
You can fix intermittent app performance issues by clearing the app cache and data on Kindle Fire.
Open the Settings menu, and select Apps & Notifications.
When directed to Apps & Notifications screen, scroll down to the Manage All Applications option and open the app you are having trouble with.
Select Storage then, tap the app entry to Clear Data or Clear Storage, and choose the Clear Cache option.
2] Check the app permissions
When you install an app, Kindle will notify you of the permissions required to run that application. It may require access to the camera. So, if you get a ‘Can’t connect to camera’ error while trying to use the app, check if it needs access to the camera app and whether you have granted the requisite permission.
For this, go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Permissions > Camera, then slide the toggle next to the app entry to ‘On’.
Once done, restart the app and when prompted, grant permission to access the camera.
3] Factory Reset Your Fire Tablet
A factory reset on Kindle Fire will erase all downloaded content, including in-app purchases and will return the device to its original factory settings.
Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to show Quick Settings, and tap the Settings icon.
Next, choose Device Options, and scroll down to the Reset to Factory Defaults option. Tap it!
Hit the Reset button as shown in the image above. This will deregister your device from your Amazon account. To start using it again, register the device and open the app to see if the Can’t connect to camera issue is fixed.
Hope that makes sense!
