Your iPad keyboard can be conveniently arranged in any size or dimension but not always. As such, you may find your iPad keyboard hanging upside down and not returning to its normal position. When this happens, powering yourself through long hours of work sessions may seem difficult. Try these troubleshooting steps and see if it helps!
- Unlock your iPad
- Rotate the device to match the keyboard orientation.
- Swipe in the downward direction.
- Press the Home button.
- Reorient your iPad to the desired position.
Why is my keyboard upside down on my iPad?

It appears the problem occurs when apps with fixed orientation (horizontal view) are opened by pressing the Home button on the left-hand side of the iPad such as the one shown in the screenshot above.
It can also happen when you’ve put your iPad on standby mode (1 hour or more). So, when you try to unlock it by swiping downwards and accessing Siri Suggestions, it refuses to return to its normal position.
Many users report Restarting the iPad fixes the problem only temporarily. So, you’ll need to follow some additional steps.

Unlock your iPad by entering the passcode correctly.
Then, rotate the device to match the orientation of the keyboard.

Now, swipe in the downward direction again to access Siri Suggestions.
Press the home button. Following this action, simply try and re-orient your iPad to the position you want by pressing-holding the keyboard and dragging it.
