Fix Apple Watch stuck on orange screen problem in a minute or less

June 10, 2022 by Hemant Saxena

It can be maddening to see your Apple Watch stuck on orange screen and not responding to your actions (tapping the display, pressing the buttons). It’s a new issue that has been troubling wearable owners for quite some time now. Fortunately, there’s an easy fix for it.

How to fix Apple Watch stuck on orange screen problem completely

It is not a software glitch or hardware failure that causes your Apple Watch to get stuck on an orange screen. The reason is something else but if you are clueless about how to get it fixed, follow this guide. It will help you troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Press the Digital Crown and enter the passcode to unlock your watch.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom of the display to open Control Center.
  3. Tap the Torch icon.
  4. Swipe right to see if you’ve enabled the orange screen.
  5. Disable it by tapping the Torch (flashlight) icon.
  6. Check if the orange tint has been removed.

After following the above steps you should no more see the orange face on Apple Watch and it should appear as normal.

Why is my Apple Watch face orange?

Actually, it’s not orange but red. Quite possibly you’ve turned On the Flashlight via Control Center. So, to fix it you’ll just need to disable the flashlight. So, before you reset the smartwatch to its factory settings or take some other course of action, verify if the Flashlight option is On.

Swipe your finger to the right to verify if you have the orange flashlight activated.

Return back to the Flashlight icon and tap it to disable the orange face on Apple Watch.

Alternatively, you can simply swipe your finger down from the top of the orange screen to disable it.

Why does my Apple Watch have a red flashlight?

When using the bright white light in a dark environment, your eyes invariably transition from Night Vision to Day Vision. This can hurt your eyes and even cause one’s sleep to vanish. Red light helps avoid this problem as it doesn’t break your night vision. It’s even less disturbing to wildlife and attracts fewer bugs. So, if there’s a pet sleeping nearby the red light of your Apple Watch won’t disturb him. For this reason, Apple Watch has a red flashlight.

Hope that makes sense!
