It’s almost impossible to access the Menu screen and other items when you find your Apple TV stuck on the Conference Room Display screen. It’s one of the minor quirks of Apple TV. Find what you should do to fix this problem!
How to fix Apple TV stuck on Conference Room Display screen problem
When the Apple TV is stuck on the Conference Room Display screen all you see is the AirPlay message bearing the following description – Wirelessly send what’s on your iOS device or computer to this display using AirPlay. To learn more, go to apple.com/airplay. It has been found that the problem mainly occurs when you have the Conference Room Display screen option enabled. To get rid of this issue do the following.
- Exit the screen using the Apple TV remote
- Remove Conference Room Display Restrictions
Instead of showing the home screen of the Apple TV when you turn it on, the Conference Room Display mode displays instructions for how to connect via AirPlay. So, you’ll need to lift Conference Room Display restrictions to remove the floating instruction message.
How do I get my Apple TV out of conference mode?
Firstly, disconnect Apple TV from the power source and reconnect it.
As the TV restarts, press and hold the Back button (second-generation Siri Remote) or Menu button (first-generation Siri Remote).
This action will temporarily unlock Conference Room Display mode.
Now, you’ll need to remove the Conference Room Display mode from the list of restricted items. It’s likely that someone has added it to the restricted list.
To change this behavior, open Settings on Apple TV.
Then, move to General > Restrictions, and enter the passcode if prompted.
Now, just make sure that the Conference Room Display is not set to Restrict in the list of restricted items. Hereafter, you should not see the floating instruction message on your Apple TV and you should be able to use it normally.
Hope that makes sense!
