The ‘iPhone Findable After Power Off’ feature is enabled by default in all the latest models of iPhones (iPhone 12 onwards). This makes it easier for owners to easily discover their phone even when it is powered off or its battery has dried up. However, if you do not want to see this alert dialog, you can disable it permanently.
Turn Off iPhone Findable After Power Off’ feature
For users not aware, your iPhone can still send a bit of reserve power to certain parts like Ultra-wideband (UWB), NFC chips, and Bluetooth even when its battery has dried up completely. That way, you can track your iPhone location through Find My App easily as it relies on Bluetooth. Thus, the addition of this new feature increases the utility of Find My App furthermore. You can also turn it off. Here’s how!
- Go to iPhone Settings.
- Tap your Apple ID.
- Scroll down to Find My.
- Choose the Find My iPhone entry.
- Tap the toggle next to Find My Network.
- Hit the Disable button under the pop-up warning message.
Note – When you make the changes, as shown above, you will no longer be able to use ‘Find My’ to locate your iPhone when it is turned off.
How do I remove iPhone findable after power off?
Open iPhone Settings by tapping the Settings icon on your Home Screen.
Expand the Apple ID section by tapping the side-arrow button next to it.
Scroll down to Find My entry. Expand the entry by tapping the side-arrow button again.
Choose the Find My iPhone option. It’s necessary to enable this option.
When directed to a new screen, hit the toggle next to the Find My Network option.
When prompted, read the message carefully. It says – You will not be able to find your devices or items when not connected to Wi-Fior a mobile network, when in power reserve mode, or when powered off.
If you don’t mind making the changes, go ahead and hit the Disable button.
Hereafter, you’ll not see the notification when you press the Power and Volume UP buttons simultaneously.
