iPhone Status bar displays useful information about your device’s current state, like the time, cellular carrier, and battery level. It can be also customized to flaunt an emoji of your choice. Though Apple does not recommend it, you can try this trick and add a custom emoji on iPhone status bar.
Use this trick to add a custom emoji on iPhone Status bar
To add an emoji on iPhone status bar, you’ll need to create a custom Focus first through the Focus mode. That’s because when you set a Focus, you’ll notice its icon appearing in the status bar and on your Lock Screen. You can even change it to show an emoji. Here’s how!
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to the Focus settings.
- Tap the + icon to choose a Custom Focus.
- Choose an icon and select a color.
- Name your Custom focus.
- Tap Done when your Focus is ready.
- Enable the toggle to show it on the Lock screen.
Let’s cover the above process in a bit more detail!
How do I add icons to my iPhone status bar?
On an iPhone with Face ID, if you wish to customize Focus settings or add an emoji to the Status Bar on iPhone, head to the Settings app.
Scroll down to the Focus entry. In the next screen that appears, tap the + icon, seen in the upper-right corner.
Tap the Custom tab as shown in the screenshot above. If you wish to allow some people to send you notifications even when your Custom Focus is on, add them. Similarly, choose the apps you would like to receive notifications from when the Focus mode is enabled.
Select an icon to be added as custom emoji on your iPhone status bar or the Lock Screen. Give it a suitable name.
When your Focus is ready and all looks well, hit the Done button.
Make sure you’ve set the toggle for your newly created custom focus to the On position.
Now, go to the Lock Screen, you should find the custom emoji on the iPhone Status bar.
To remove the emoji, simply go back to your Custom Focus and hit the Delete button. It will turn off the animation.
That’s all there is to it. Hope it makes sense!
