How to find your AirPods Pro Case Firmware version

Firmware, like any other programming, can be improved over time. So, it is essential to find if your device is updated to the latest firmware version. That way, you can get all the latest improvements or bug fixes. So, if you do not know how to find or check your AirPods Pro Case Firmware version, read along to find out!

  1. Connect your AirPods to your iPhone.
  2. Go to the Settings app.
  3. Tap Bluetooth.
  4. Hit the Info icon next to your AirPods name.
  5. Scroll down to Version entry.
  6. Tap the entry to display the case firmware version number.

Apple automatically updates the firmware version of AirPods and its case. So, no manual action is required from the user’s side but the direct way to find the Case firmware version is not very apparent to users until we discovered it!

That’s how you can find whether the case firmware version number is up to date and is running the latest version or not.

What’s the difference between drivers and firmware

An important difference between the two is that the firmware is stored on the hardware device itself, while drivers are installed inside the operating system.

Second, firmware can kick off on its own and carry out the functions it’s been programmed for while drivers must be run by the operating system.

Hope that makes sense!
